This is use to measure the percentage of water in a certain substance. It is use to determine also if the material is ready to use, unexpectedly dry or wet or need for further inspection. There are many types of moisture meter like, concrete moisture meter and wood moisture meter.

Wood moisture meter Depending on specie newly cut logs can have a moisture content (MC) 80% or more. The minimum moisture content that could been generally obtain in air drying is about 12 to 15 percent in most part of united states. The woodmaker can determine the amount of water in a wood if it is suitable for intended purpose or not by the wood moisture meter. The moisture content of paper and wood products are very sensitive, their physical properties are affected by moisture. Concrete moisture meter There is also concrete moisture meter which use by floor installer that measures the moisture content of concrete. This kind of meter is use for decades in measuring different materials and substances. To avoid the rebar reinforcement below the surface concrete moisture meter is design to detect moisture to a depth of 1” of a concrete slab. It can determine the best place to put a concrete relative humidity test, it is also use to spot check the top surface of a certain location on the slab. Top inch at most area is measure only by concrete moisture meter than the concrete further down. The moisture in the slab iquilibrates once a floor covering was install. Moisture meter in concrete should never been use to determine whether the slab is dry enough for flooring installation or not. Moisture meters are really essential and useful in home. With moisture meter you can know the density and measure of a certain moisture in a substance that you want to test.
